Clif Bar: Sustained Energy

Clif Bar was under attack from their competitors who were comparing their snack bars to Clif’s energy bars.

To highlight the difference between energy and snack bars, we showed up where the competition couldn’t and used the one thing they didn’t have, Clif’s awesome athletes!  The Sustained Energy campaign highlighted specific athlete moments and ran across social, programatic, broadcast, and online video.

…….. and then the pandemic hit.

With sports and competition on hold, and more and more people exercising for mental and physical health, the Sustained campaign was supplemented with the Just Keep Going campaign that was designed to encourage everyday athletes in different stages of their athletic journey.

Both campaigns delivered $36mm in sales with an ROI of over 10:1, driving 2/3rds of sales directly, and 1/3 of sales indirectly through brand building.
